Noah's Ark Horses: Melody

Name: Melody

Sex : Mare

Age: 31 years old (as at January 2014)

Birthdate: Born in 1983

Color: Grey (Black skin with a mixture of black and white hairs)

Breed: Pony

Arrived at Noah’s Ark: 1999

Melody was rescued in 1999 when Tang Dynasty closed its doors in Singapore together with a camel. She is the only remaining resident who moved from Singapore when Noah’s Ark relocated to JB in June 2000.

Melody is the dominant mare and oldest of the herd at Noah’s Ark but that didn’t stop her from falling in love with a younger horse. She met her prince charming Primus a.k.a. Sanuk in September 2013. Primus is the only pony that can enter and share her stable with. Aren’t they a sweet couple?

Noah's Ark Horses: Primus @ Sanuk

Name: Primus @ Sanuk

Sex : Gelding

Age: 10 years (as at January 2014)

Birthdate: Born in 2004

Color: Grey

(Black skin with a mixture of black and white hairs)

Breed: Pony

Arrived at Noah’s Ark: September 2013

Primus used to have a job in Singapore with the Bukit Timah Saddle Club but he had to be retired early because he didn’t like his job i.e. being ridden by kids as part of the club’s pony rides.

Primus is given a stable name “Sanuk” which made it easier for his caregivers to call him.

He is currently enjoying his early retirement at the sanctuary as the dominant male of the herd and keeps the other horses (all larger than him) in line. Every evening, he will take his time to return to the stables after the others have been put in for the night.

To upkeep his stay at the sanctuary, Primus plays his part by being a model for photo shoots – if you want to engage him for bridal photos, please contact Noah’s Ark CARES.
