Pets' Station Food Donation Drive

Dear Friends of Noah’s Ark

  

Thank you for your support towards the food donation drive organized by Pets' Station in May 2016 to help feed 700 dogs and 300 cats at Noah’s Ark Natural Animal Sanctuary.

The transporter has delivered the food last week to the sanctuary, with your support, we have raised:

·             430 bags of dry dog food (each bag is 12kg)

·             1960 trays of dog wet food (each tray is 100g each)

·             70 bags of dry cat food (each bag is 6kg)

·             1252 tins of cat wet food (each tin is 400g)

Many of the residents at the sanctuary were abandoned, accident victims, neglected and abused by their caregivers and members of the public – the sanctuary is a safe haven for them to call Noah’s Ark their forever home.  Please visit our blog at http://nanasanctuary.blogspot.sg to stay in touch of our work.

Noah’s Ark Natural Animal Shelter

Thank you Animal Aid Abroad Inc for helping to feed our equines!

On 12 July 2016, Noah’s Ark Natural Animal Shelter (NANAS) received an email from Janet Thomas, Founder and Chairperson of Animal Aid Abroad Inc. informing us that they could help feed our horses.  This was after we sent out our announcement that very day to our supporters explaining our current situation together with an appeal for assistance.  (Please see Official Announcement of Noah’s Ark Natural Animal Shelter)

She had been following our work rescuing ex-working animals ranging from racehorses, show jumpers, riding school horses and even a pony from a theme park in Singapore and immediately offered assistance.

Their generous contribution on a regular ongoing basis will go a long way to help defray our feed costs.

Animal Aid Abroad Inc. (AAA) is an Australian registered charity dedicated to improving the living conditions and treatment of working animals around the world.  They work alongside partner groups to educate communities, provide shelter for animals and much needed food, water and care.

Helping working animals all over the world

Animal Aid Abroad Inc. (AAA) was started in August 2007 in Perth, Australia with the purpose to improve the conditions and treatment of animals in Alexandria, Egypt.

AAA has expanded its operations to help other animals in developing countries specifically working animals including horses, mules, donkeys, camels, elephants, dogs and bullocks. 

In December 2008, AAA in partnership with their affiliated group, Animal Aid Egypt set up a 24 hr clinic in the city of Alexandria and begun outreach programs by setting up a weekly mobile equine/farm clinic and TNR programs with stray cats and dogs.

AAA has progressed from this initial project and now assists a number of groups all over the world to help working animals.

Merry Christmas from Noah's Ark

Dear Friends of Noah's Ark, As 2014 draws to a close and with the upcoming Christmas celebrations, we would like to wish our loyal supporters season greetings and express our heartfelt thanks for their continued commitment to the sanctuary and its many residents. To herald the animals' festive season, we are launching the "Ark of Giving" which is to grant our 600 dogs, 300 cats, 10 horses, 4 monkeys and other small animals their Christmas wishes. If you would like to be part of their festive giving, these are some of their items on their wish list.

Christmas cookies The Barkery, our ever loyal  supporter has offered to organise a "Christmas For The Shelter Dogs" in support of the dogs at Noah's Ark till 31 December 2014.  They will be baking cookies for our dogs. If you wish to contribute to their party - the costs of the cookies are as follows: (a) 500 g of cookies for $25  (b) 1 kg of cookies for $48 Do help to bring the festive cheer to the dogs at Noah's Ark . In addition 25% of all sales proceeds will be donated to the various animal welfare organisations all of whom are participating in this Christmas drive.  To place your orders please click here.

Supplements There are also a number of geriatric cats and dogs residing in the sanctuary and they are in need of supplements to keep them fit and healthy.   If you wish to contribute  to the purchase of their supplements, please email to Noah's Ark CARES.

Special diet for pets with medical needs Many of the senior dogs and cats at the sanctuary also have special dietary needs. As such, we are appealing for a/d and k/d tin food.  a/d is required for nutritional support of pets recovering from serious illness, accident and surgery and k/d is for cats with kidney issues. Sadly these animals do require their clinical special diet for any quality of life.  To contribute towards the animals special diet, please email to Noah's Ark CARES

Tin food donation drive Similarly to boost the immune system of our sick dogs and cats that are recovering from surgery and medical aid, Kakato tin food is also needed. It costs $77 per carton for 24 tins. To place an order please email to Noah's Ark CARES.

Buy a gift of hay for the horses For $50 you can buy a bale of hay to feed the horses.  Or you can donate on behalf of your friend as a Christmas Gift in their name.  To buy a bale of hay, please email to Noah's Ark CARES .

Pet Sponsorship Wan Wan Topaz Clyde Yankee Shalom Royale      Last but not least, we have our "Pet Sponsorship" program that enables people to sponsor an animal at Noah's Ark as a Christmas or Birthday gift for themselves or a friend. It would be an ideal gift for  people who love animals but are unable to adopt one. On confirmation of a sponsorship, the guardian will receive a certified photo of the pet and a letter describing the pet in greater detail and with its latest updates.

A Collaboration between SPCA Selangor and Noah's Ark

The SPCA Selangor volunteers had been working hard to try and find homes for as many dogs and cats that they could, and the deadline was looming nearer before the building had to be pulled down.

Marianne, a volunteer with SPCA Selangor called Noah's Ark to ask if we could help to give some of the dogs a home at the sanctuary.

Raymund our Founder, knew that the volunteers at SPCA Selangor were doing their best to find as many homes as possible despite their tight deadline so he agreed to accept any of the  dogs with the following conditions: they had to be too difficult to rehome as they were deemed neither cute or young, in other words senior dogs that remained shy and wary of people.

In the months of July and August, SPCA Selangor made two trips to transport such dogs from Kuala Lumpur to Noah's Ark. Eighteen dogs have since arrived at the sanctuary and we are happy to say that they have settled in nicely. These are the 18 lucky dogs that call Noah's Ark their home.

This is just one of the examples of a collaboration between SPCA Selangor and Noah's Ark - both of these groups realize that it is important that we are able to work together for the interests of the animals.

We believe that we complement each other as SPCA Selangor's strength is in rehoming given their large network whilst Noah's Ark is able to provide the older animal a place to live out its life in dignity.

In recognition of Noah's Ark's support, SPCA Selangor annually, in turn sells Noah's Ark's calendars at their centre to support our work for the animals.
